A devil mountain hold hikers spellbound with a good view and walking on rocky ridges

Mt. Tanigawa, located in the areas of Japan Sea coastal climate and Pacific Ocean side climate, has distinctive vegetation and geography created by drastic cghanges in the weather. Mt. Tanigawa is famous for Ichinokura that is one of the three greatest climing area in Japan and killed lots of climbers. On one hand, the normal route is not dengerous and is popular for hikers.

Route and estimated course time:
Tenjindaira -(0:50)- Kumaanazawa Hinanngoya -(1:20)- Katanokoya -(0:25)- Okinomimi -(0:20)- Katanokoya -(1:00)- Garesawanoatama -(1:30)- Doai Station [5:25 in total]

Note: Almost flat route until Kumaanazawa Hinangoya. The route becomes steeper and there are rocky stretches occasionally until Katanokoya. The route is crowded with hikers in autumn, when the leaves change color.
