A mountain also known as Tsugaru-Fuji is a place of mountain worship

Mt. Iwaki, located in the middle of Tsugaru plains, is an individual mountain with majestic view of the wide skirts, and is worthy to be called the leader of Tsugaru area. The summit is formed with 3 peaks, Mt. Iwaki, Mt. Chokai and Mt. Ganki. It has been the object of mountain worship from ancient times, and Okumiya (rear shrine) is located at the peak. Mt. Iwaki belongs to Tsugaru National Park.

Route and estimated course time:
Iwaki-san Shrine -(1:30)- Ubaishi -(0:50)- Yakidomari shelter -(1:45)- Mt. Iwaki -(0:45)- 8th Station -(1:30)- Dake Onsen [6:20 in total]

Note: The route from Iwaki-san Shrine has been used by beliebers of moutain worship. It has steep slope and ladders are located in difficult part of the toute. To climb Mt. Iwaki, there is the shortest route from 8th station parking lot. It takes less than 2 hours and a half and there are many tourists.
