Route and estimated course time:
Yashajin-touge trailhead -[1:00]- Yashajin-touge -[2:00]- Tsuetate-touge -[2:00]- Ichigo-daira -[0:30]- Minami-omuro-goya -[1:20]- Mt. Yakushi -[1:00]- Mt. Kannon -[1:00]- Mt. Jizo -[0:40]- Houo-goya -[2:00]- Minamishojin-no-taki fall -[1:20]- Kamisaka-touge [12 hours 50 minutes]

Description:

Although the elevation in difference between the trailhead and the highest peak is over 1,400 meters, there is no remarkable steep slope or dangerous point on the route. It is just a long trail. From Yashajin-touge to Tsuetate-touge, it is rather a steep slope among trees. On the way to Ichigo-daira, almost midpoint between Tsuetate-touge and Ichigo-daira, good view of Mt. Fuji and Mt. Kita is expected. Until Mt. Sunabarai, the trail is in the depths of the wood. The view from Mt. Yakushi and Mt. Kannon is good. An obelisk is be characteristic of Mt. Jizo.

Stay on established trails and watch your footing, especially at overlooks and near drop-offs. Never throw or roll rocks because there may be hikers below.

  • Hello!

I noticed the beauty of Japanese nature when I went to an English language school in the US. While staying the US, I enjoyed hiking at National Parks. I wanted visitors from different countries to have a good time here in Japan as I did in the US.
